Youth Ambassador-Scholars
The UC San Diego Youth Ambassador-Scholar Program is designed to train local high school students in the history of policing, public safety, and community oversight of law enforcement in San Diego, and to support student-led community-engagement projects.

In 2021, the inaugural cohort of Youth Ambassador-Scholars produced two major projects: a four-episode podcast series and a short documentary film, available for streaming or download below.
Podcast: Modern spectrum / the discussion
Created, written, recorded, and edited by three Youth Ambassador-Scholars from the First Cohort (2021), the Modern Spectrum podcast promotes frank discussion on issues related to policing and public safety for students representing a range of political perspectives.
